The Fifteen Mysteries of the Rosary and their Associated Graces

“A mystery is a sacred thing which is difficult to understand…. The works of Our Lord and of His Blessed Mother can be rightly called mysteries because they are so full of wonders and all kinds of perfections and deep sublime truths which the Holy Spirit reveals to the humble and simple souls who honor these mysteries” (The Secret of the Rosary, St. Louis de Montfort).
Only those mysteries which Our Lady herself revealed are presented here. The graces presented below are adapted from St. Louis de Montfort’s Third Method for Saying the Rosary.

THE OFFERING TO BE MADE AT THE TIME OF THE HOLY MASS.Eternal Father, I offer to Thee the sacrifice which Thy beloved Son Jesus made of Himself upon the Cross, and now renews upon this altar; and I offer it to Thee in the name of all creatures, together with the Masses which have been celebrated, and which shall be celebrated, in the whole world, in order to adore Thee, and to give Thee the honour which Thou dost deserve; to render to Thee due thanks for Thy innumerable benefits, to appease Thy anger for our sins, and to give Thee due satisfaction for them; to entreat Thee also for myself, for the Church, for the whole world, and for the blessed souls in purgatory. Incline unto my aid, O Lord. R. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory Be...

1. I compassionate Thee, sorrowing Mary, for that affliction which thy tender heart suffered at the time of the prophecy of the holy old man Simeon. O dear Mother, by thy heart thus afflicted, obtain for me the virtue of humility, and the gift of the fear of God.

2. I compassionate thee, sorrowing Mary, for those bitter pangs which thy most feeling heart suffered in thy flight and sojourn in Egypt. O dear Mother, by thy heart immersed in so great sorrows, obtain for me the virtue of liberality, especially towards the poor, and the gift of piety.

3. I compassionate thee, sorrowing Mary, for those griefs which thy solicitous heart experienced in the loss of thy beloved Son. O dear Mother, by thy heart filled with maternal anxieties, obtain for me the virtue of chastity and the gift of knowledge.

REGULAMENTO DE VIDA PARA UMA PESSOA SANTIFICAR-SE NO MEIO DO MUNDO

Extraído e adaptado das obras de Santo Afonso Maria de Ligório

De manhã:

I – Levantar-se a uma hora certa, como por exemplo, às 5 horas ou às 5:30, e nunca alterar a hora sem causa justa;

II – Oferecer, logo que acordar, o coração a Deus, fazer o sinal da cruz e vestir-se prontamente e com modéstia; depois rezar de joelhos três Ave-Marias em honra do Coração Imaculado da Santíssima Virgem Maria para obter uma grande pureza de coração, de corpo e espírito;

III – Fazer a oração e meditação da manhã durante meia hora, ou ao menos por espaço de um quarto de hora.

IV – Assistir à Santa Missa todas as vezes que puder.

Durante o Dia:

V – Fazer pelo menos um quarto de hora de leitura espiritual;

VI – Recitar o terço meditando em seus mistérios, sendo possível reze-o em família;

VII – Fazer a visita ao Santíssimo Sacramento e à Santíssima Virgem, na Igreja caso possível;N.B. Para estes três exercícios, se fixa a hora em que as ocupações de cada um permita:

VIII – Dizer freqüentemente e dum modo especial, no principio e no fim do trabalho, orações jaculatórias, e fazer principalmente atos de amor a Deus como: “Ó meu bom Jesus! Eu vos amo. Eu quero amar-vos; fazei que eu vos ame muito, etc". não esquecendo a prática da comunhão espiritual;

IX – Exercitar-se na mortificação dos olhos, dos ouvidos, da língua, abstendo-se de olhar para coisas inúteis, de as escutar e dizer, ainda que não sejam perigosas, para deste modo mais facilmente se abster das más e perigosas;

X – Aproveitar as ocasiões de sofrer alguma pena, contradição ou humilhação por amor a Deus. Submeter-se em todas as contrariedades e padecimentos, em todas, à vontade de Deus, dizendo: "Oh! Meu Deus! Vós assim o quereis, a vossa vontade seja feita".

XI – Quando estiver à mesa, abster-se de alguma coisa de que mais goste; nunca saciar inteiramente o apetite, nem comer fora da hora da comida sem necessidade.

XII – Evitar a ociosidade, as más companhias, as más leituras e as ocasiões do pecado, especialmente aquelas em que a castidade pode sofrer perigo. Santo Afonso, Santa Tereza e muitos outros Santos dizem que uma das principais regras para a perfeição e santificação d’uma alma, é evitar a familiaridade das pessoas de diversos sexos, ainda que essas pessoas sejam religiosas, porque muitas vezes o demônio lança em nosso coração certas afeiçõezinhas menos puras para com elas, fazendo passar por espirituais coisas que são verdadeiras loucuras;

XIII – Fazer o sinal da cruz nas tentações, sobre tudo nas carnais, estando só e dizer no fundo do coração: "Jesus! Maria! José! Socorrei-me". Não se perturbar, se a tentação continuar, mas orar mais vivamente e dizer: "Ò meu Jesus! Antes quero morrer que ofender-vos".

XIV – Não se perturbar, se tiver a desgraça de cometer algum pecado mesmo grave, mas fazer um perfeito ato de contrição com o propósito de não cair mais e de confessar na primeira ocasião que puder;À Noite:

XV – Fazer, em uma hora fixa, como por exemplo, às nove horas, a oração da noite e o exame de consciência; dizer os Atos cristãos e as Ladainhas da Santíssima Virgem depois de ler alguma coisa acerca do que deve meditar no dia seguinte;

XVI – Depois de ter rezado as três Ave Marias, como de manhã, despir-se com modéstia; estando na cama cobrir-se sempre com decência e conservar-se nela com modéstia; ocupar o espírito na meditação do dia seguinte, no pensamento da morte ou em qualquer outro santo pensamento, e fazer ou dizer as orações jaculatórias que puder, até que venha o sono.

XVII – Escolher um bom confessor, em quem tenha confiança; abrir-lhe bem o coração e deixar-se guiar pelos seus conselhos, e nunca o deixar sem grave motivo;

XVIII – Confessar-se uma vez por semana e comungar tantas vezes quantas o seu diretor permitir;

XIX – Nutrir no seu coração uma devoção constante e terna para com Maria Santíssima. Repetir a Ave Maria quando o relógio der horas, ao entrar em casa e ao sair, acrescentando: "Jesus Maria e José, eu vos amo; não permitais que eu vos ofenda". Jejuar nos sábados e na véspera das sete festas de Maria Santíssima. Fazer uma novena com preparação para cada uma delas, bem como as do Natal, Pentecostes e Santo Patrono. Trazer os escapulários ou algumas medalhas piedosas e inspirar aos outros a devoção à Maria Santíssima.

XX – Ouvir sermão todas as vezes que puder.

Entrar em uma congregação, para se ocupar do que interessa a alma. Fazer com o mesmo fim um dia de retiro espiritual, todos os meses. E todos os anos exercícios espirituais por espaço de quatro ou cinco dias.

LES DIX COMMANDEMENTS
1. " TU AIMERAS LE SEIGNEUR TON DIEU DE TOUT TON CŒUR, DE TOUTE TON AME ET DE TOUT TON ESPRIT ".
2. Tu ne prononceras pas le nom du Seigneur ton Dieu à faux (Ex 20, 7 ; Dt 5, 11).
3. Souviens-toi du jour du Sabbat pour le sanctifier. Pendant six jours tu travailleras et tu feras tout ton ouvrage ; mais le septième jour est un sabbat pour le Seigneur ton Dieu. Tu n’y feras aucun ouvrage (Ex 20, 8-10 ; cf. Dt 5, 12-15).
4. Honore ton père et ta mère afin d’avoir longue vie sur la terre que le Seigneur ton Dieu te donne (Ex 20, 12).
5. Tu ne commettras pas de meurtre (Ex 20, 13).
6. Tu ne commettras pas d’adultère (Ex 20, 14 ; Dt 5, 17).
7. Tu ne commettras pas de vol (Ex 20, 15 ; Dt 5, 19).
8. Tu ne témoigneras pas faussement contre ton prochain.(Ex 20, 16).
9. Tu ne convoiteras pas la maison de ton prochain. Tu ne convoiteras pas la femme de ton prochain, ni son serviteur, ni sa servante, ni son bœuf, ni son âne, rien de ce qui est à ton prochain (Ex 20, 17).
10. Tu ne convoiteras ... rien de ce qui est à ton prochain (Ex 20, 17). Tu ne désireras ni sa maison, ni son champ, ni son serviteur ou sa servante, ni son bœuf ou son âne : rien de ce qui est à lui (Dt 5, 21).

OS DEZ MANDAMENTOS DA LEI DE DEUS
1. Adorar a Deus e amá-lo sobre todas as coisas.
2. Não invocar o Santo Nome de Deus em vão.
3. Santificar os domingos e festas de guarda.
4. Honrar pai e mãe(e os outros legítimos superiores).
5. Não matar (nem causar outro dano, no corpo ou na alma, a si mesmo ou ao próximo).
6. Guardar castidade nas palavras e nas obras.
7. Não furtar (nem injustamente reter ou danificar os bens do próximo).
8. Não levantar falsos testemunhos (nem de qualquer outro modo faltar à verdade ou difamar o próximo).
9. Guardar castidade nos pensamentos e desejos.
10. Não cobiçar as coisas alheias.
